Crochet Lace has taken an important place for all kinds of fancy work, perhaps because it is easy to make, but also because with a plain crochet-needle and thread so many different kinds of lace can be made.
Originally published in the 1910s, How to Make Crochet Lace (2nd Album) does not give the common and well known patterns and it only reproduces designs of laces, insertions, and sprigs of different styles.
There are various pretty imitations or reproductions of stitches, which will be easily copied by following the explanations which have been made as clear and with as many details as possible; the 74 illustrations which are exact reproductions of the original, will make the work easier.
Venetian Lace is worked as lace, in squares, in lozenges, etc. All the patterns for filet lace can be copied with crochet. Cluny Lace and Guipure Lace are also very well imitated.
